How is IVF Treatment Performed? What Are the Stages of IVF Treatment?

In the first stage of IVF treatment, couples are examined carefully by a physician. Studies and tests are conducted to determine the causes of infertility. The couple is carefully informed by the doctor about IVF treatment.

In the second stage of the treatment process, the first stage of treatment, it is ensured that the mother candidate produces healthy egg cells. To this end, specific drug applications are used to help develop egg cells.

Then the mature eggs are taken from the mother candidate with the help of medical applications. Meanwhile, the father candidate gives sperm through masturbation.

In the next phase, the egg cell is fertilized with sperm cells obtained from the father candidate. This is usually done using the application known as the microinjection method. During the microinjection process, the sperm cell is injected directly into the egg through a special pipette. Thus, the success rate of IVF treatment is increased.

The fertilized egg grows within what are called incubators for about a week. These devices, by construction, imitate the body conditions of the mother candidate. So the fertilized egg can develop comfortably and can be observed by the healthcare professionals.

In the next stage, the fertilized egg is placed in the womb of the expectant mother. This procedure is performed with the help of the medical application known as embryo transfer. Embryo transfer is concluded in as little as 10 minutes.
